SAFARI
See the wild,
through local eyes
through local eyes
Laikipia is known for having one of the highest diversity of mammals in Africa, and Ol Gaboli’s location is right in the heart of it. We are lucky to have access to a large swathe of Laikipia that includes both Big 5 showstoppers and a number of unique species - meaning a trip to Ol Gaboli is special to safari novices and veterans alike. Elephants, lions, leopards and buffalo live alongside Grevy’s zebra, wild dogs, beisa oryx and reticulated giraffe, whilst you’ll likely fall asleep to the whooping of hyena at night.
Our guides are from here, raised with the wildlife, and trained to track, explain, and share what they know. Your stay includes guided walks and drives, both in the morning and early evening, the best times to spot the animals as they avoid the midday sun. In such a vast landscape, we rarely encounter other vehicles, meaning sightings are personal, respectful and unforgettable. And even if you decide to stay in one morning, wildlife surrounds the lodge, and you may wake up to the sound of elephants having their own leisurely breakfast, just across the river bank.

Laikipia is home to some of Kenya’s rarest species — from the endangered Grevy’s zebra and black rhino to wild dogs, black leopards, and more than 350 bird species — all living in a landscape where conservation and community go hand in hand.
